Silly — Not the New Scientist article, of course. Duncan Graham-Rowe’s title and introduction, rather:
New probe may silence climate sceptics
Those who deny global warming is happening often rely on somewhat error-prone satellite information about our planet. But a proposed probe could dramatically improve the accuracy of such readings and put an end to the climate change debate.
I suggest he did not get the facts straight. Best I know, the facts are more along the lines of:
New probe allows more precise temperature measures on earth
Those who deny global warming is happening often challenge the notion of climat and dismiss global warming as natural. As far as non-linear equations (very chaotic in this case) and history (the Gulf Stream’s chaotic flow) go, this position makes sense. And this new probe won’t help to discriminate the direct impact of man.
