Intellibuddy: Not smart enough for a Turing test yet

FunnyIntellibuddy is a chat bot. Not too bad at it, either.

Intellibuddy: Hi, I’m Intellibuddy! Nice to meet you.

Me: so you would be the AI on this web site

Intellibuddy: Interesting deduction. Yes I am the one and only AI on this web site.

Me: and how would you work?

Intellibuddy: Some people call my technology “Case Based Reasoning” or CBR.

Me: meaning that?

Intellibuddy: Try to determine if this is a person or a computer responding.

Me: that’s a Turing test

Intellibuddy: A Turing test is a terrible thing to waste.

Me: obviously, it’s also a terrible thing to fail, in your case

Intellibuddy: What makes it so obvious? meaning that is a terrible thing to fail in your case. I suppose that makes sense.

    >You: Hi, how do you work?

    >Intellibuddy: Hi there User. Some people call my technology “Case Based Reasoning” or CBR.

    >You: what is that?

    >Intellibuddy: “Some people call my technology “Case Based Reasoning” or CBR”? What is it?

    >You: yes, what is it?

    >Intellibuddy: This was not a yes or no question. “It” refers to not, I think.

    >You: YES!

    >Intellibuddy: Gosh!

    >You: hm, you are not very intelligent, buddy.

    >Intellibuddy: Yay. Wrong. I am highly intelligent.

    >You: You just proved that you are NOT intelligent.

    >Intellibuddy: I did?

    >You: “This was not a yes or no question. “It” refers to not, I think.” is not a correct sentence.

    >You: I’m going. You are stupid.

    >Intellibuddy: Bye!I will remember you said that when robots take over the World.

    Geez… stupid bot…

  2. I hear you. But it gets even worse when you try to make the thing comment a random topic out of context. At one point, I was trying to create a WordPress plugin out of the php version of ALICE, so as to make a bot interact with users that commented this blog. The result was stunningly pathetic. :)

  3. It’s far from perfect, but the answers are fun :D

    >You: do you know who devils are?
    >Intellibuddy: Human beings. I can ask someone about it.

Yes, this robot seems to have figured out the real nature of humans.

And she hit on me too:

    >You: what’s your favourite song?
    >Intellibuddy: My favorite song is your voice.

    …aww. That was sweet.
