Smart link and search reloaded

In software — Smart links and Search reloaded are now v.2.0.

Both have been rewritten as classes, and cleaned up in the process. The main changes:

I discarded a number of search reloaded tweaks that turned out to be mostly irrelevant in practice, meaning that search reloaded is much faster in practice.
Smart link now works everywhere, including if you hardcode a smart link into your template.
Smart link works with my external links plugin, and thus adds class="external" where applicable.
Smart links now have a title attribute.
Smart links no longer link to empty categories.
Smart links no longer supports search queries.
Smart links now has a plugin API.

Highlight — If you've never tried smart links before, I can't recommend the plugin enough when it comes to maintaining a web site. It is so useful, in fact that I still am wondering how I ever released it for free in the first place.

I had been considering a switch from /projects/ to /software/ for all of the software on semiologic.com and eventually took care of it today. Had it not been for smart links, I would have needed to revisit essentially every post on this site to locate every relevant link. Smart link turned this into a no-brainer:

I added a couple of lines to my .htaccess file in order to redirect /projects/* and /downloads/* to /software/*
Smart link took care of updating every internal link on the site

Semiologic theme and CMS, v.2.5

In resources — The Semiologic theme and CMS v.2.5 is now available for download.

Clean up version, before going xml

Tweaked the data that will get displayed via the print link plugin
Optimized the header and footer nav queries
Optimized the interaction with the sidebar tile plugin
Optimized sem_theme_init() — it now runs after all wp caching occurs

There are also a few plugin updates:

Markdown fix (obsolete) is no longer required if you are using Markdown 1.0.1b
Search reloaded now searches in excerpts and will no longer crash while indexing tons of posts
Sidebar tile (obsolete) got optimized — upgrade if you are using my CMS package or smart link
Smart links got optimized — upgrade if you are using sidebar tile

Upgrading from 2.4 to 2.5 is as simple as simple can get: simply overwrite all files. If you've skipped a version, you'll want to check:
