Besides WordPress 2.6.5, additional fixes in this release include:

• Added ability to exclude pages from all but silos
• Bookmark Me add back to feeds and validation warnings removed.
• Askimet 2.2.2
• Several Author Images bugs fixed including multiple authors and problems uploading another user's image.
• Fixed bugs in Article Uploader when Visual Editor is disabled.
• Fixed Admin Menu css issue when using tiled header.
• Changed default robots.txt contents.
• Broken class attribute in External Links fixed.

I have also updated the free Semiologic theme to 5.6.5 as well.

This will be the last 5.6.x release as Denis and I, are moving on to get SLP 5.7 ready for the upcoming WordPress 2.7 release.  (I know we said that last time.)

Fixes in this release include:

• Javascript error in the Google Analytics plugin in IE7 removed.
• MSN Subscribe-Me link fixed.
• Navbar css class was wrong.
• 301 errors when using a non-www site name and pc_robots.txt plugin are now fixed.
• Mediacaster broke rss feeds when also using rss2blog and caused feed not to validate.
• Fixed contact form error message display and handling if no data is entered and then form submitted.
• Improved sem-cache error message if cache file cannot be deleted/created.
• External Links plugin no longer causes blank screen on a couple of sites.
• Improved usability of Url navbar item entry.
• Bookmark Me widget no longer displayed in rss feeds.
• Updated mediaplayer used by Mediacaster to latest release.

I have also updated the free Semiologic theme to 5.6.4 as well.

This will be the last 5.6.x release as Denis and I, are moving on to get SLP 5.7 ready for the upcoming WordPress 2.7 release.

• Copyright notice now appears below footer nav bar

Also, I have disabled Post Revision functionality introduced in WordPress 2.6.  It turns out that this feature broke some of our functionality and plugins including Page/Post specific headers as the ID of the post revision is being passed instead of the original post itself.  In troubleshooting the Page/Post Headers I found other post-specific plugins also have ill-behavior.  Disabling the revision functionality restores WP post saving behavior to pre-2.6 functionality.  Denis and I will be tackling fixes for this in the next SLP release.

– Smart Pings now display the last 500 entries.

After upgrading please be sure to flush your site cache (if using wordPress Caching plugins (sem-cache, wp-cache) and also your browser's cache (Ctrl+F5).

If you are upgrading from an older SLP release (prior to 5.5), I would recommend regenerating your permalinks as well (Settings->Permalinks).
