Unfancy quote plugin for WordPress v.1.0

In resources — The unfancy quote plugin for WordPress removes the fancy quotes inserted by WordPress.

This plugin will be useful to anyone who regularly inserts code in his posts.

Note that it does not convert utf-8 fancy quotes before they are processed by mapgie. These still return the weird ? which breaks XML parsers. But it's a good first step.

Thanks for the Plugin. It is really rather useful.

Pointed to it from my blog :)

Good work.

Is this only for future posts or will it correct past usage of "smart quotes"? This is something I've been looking for for quite a while. Alex King has pointed out that this default behavior of WordPress effectively breaks Copy-Paste.

Good on ya for writing this plugin.

It works for every post and page, and on all fields where wp adds fancy quotes.

I corrected a tiny bug, that left a fancy quote around. You might want to download the plugin again.

For those who want to untexturize their WP installation completely, there's also WP Unformatted and wpuntexturize. It's cool there now is a plugin that only disables the quotes. Nice job!

Any chance of updating your One-Click install? I used it for the initial install and it'd be cool to use it to One-Click upgrade too.
